retro fit alarm

Has anyone stripped an alarm out of a UK model ,and fitted in a Import ?


done a search but couldn't find anything more ?

Not as far as im awear but should be possible. However it would need to have the main ecu swapped and key transponder as the UK has the built in imobiliser on it. Also you need the sensor box below the rear bin and i think there is another box in the dash for the reciever.

better strip everything then,im guessing they are thatcham approved for insurance purposes ,i know the mk2 rev3 were

Most likely yes. Strip to bear shell and you should spot the UK differences as you go.

Has anyone got a wiring diagram for the alarm ?
I need to know which alarm wires are part of the engine loom, before the engine goes to its new home

Hi mate
had a look through  that and all it mentions is locate the pre-wired plug in the engine bay
i dont think the import has one ,although i cant see very well without removing the battery and bits
