JAE Fitting

Buster, are you going to JAE, if so and you are up for it I may bring forward my purchase of the Sony (yes I know  s:roll: :roll: s:roll:  ) M9900 TFT and get all the gubbings for a fit, usual rates and a donation to the club will apply!

Question now, do I get the M1000 TFT or the M9900 TFT, both about the same price, I have searched but can find nothing conclusive, I need to have Sony as I have the 10 disc interchanger so it has to be compatible.

To reply to myself - been using the search button and its amazing what you can find, can someone please confirm for me that as my car is an '01 I will not require any additional parts, edge bits etc apart from a cubby hole to fill the gap underneath - as according to this thread:

by far teh best way is to get the autoleads adaptor and this;

Honestly it depends on your opinion of Phils.

I think mine looks nicer.

But it's your car and your call. If you want it like Phils, then your original statementis correct.

Using the Autoleads adaptor is undoubtedly quicker/easier (you have to file some bits of the cubby hole down to make it fit otherwise, and either drill holes or use a hotglue gun to fix it), but i) I wanted to try something different  s;) s;) , and ii) you get a bigger cubby hole I think.

Hi Liz,

Did you see Kerries head unit at JAE, I think it was the Sony 9900 and can play single DIN movies, it cost about £600.

I have to say this is the best unit I have seen to date the functionalitiy is just amazing and the screen is perfect.  I can help fit if you like as I've always done all my own audio work.  Learn't from my mistakes I guess.
