Dear all,

My name is Nigel Burton. I am a motoring journalist and author. My latest project is a new book about the MR2 that will tell the full story from the SA-X prototypes to the final W30 TF300s.

Thanks to the help and generosity of friends I have a large amount of MR material to be going through - but I still need help, especially regarding the Roadster.

Part of the book will detail ownership experiences - good and bad. So I'd love to hear from anyone who is willing to share their stories with me.

Some things to consider:
why did you choose an MR2?
did the car meet (or exceed) your expectations?
what's the best/worst feature?
what would you change?
have you modified your car in any way?

If you have a photo or photos of your car, please let me have a copy. I can't promise I'll use them all, but your favourite vehicle could be immortalised in print.

I'm also trying to nail down information about some of the more unusual MR2s, such as the Zagato VM180. If anyone has any information about these cars, I'd be grateful if you would pass on your knowledge - your co-operation will be gratefully acknowledged in the book.

The book will also feature your favourite MR2 club.

Finally, if anyone has any photos of the various prototypes and full-size clays that were produced for any of the MR2s - or interview material with the designers and engineers - I want to hear from you.

With your help, I hope to produce a book that does justice to such a great car (yes, I've owned an MR2) and help keep the legend alive.

I have set up an outlook email address for all book correspondence. Feel free to drop me a line at  e mailto:mr2author@outlook.com">mr2author@outlook.com e

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and thanks for participating in the classic car movement. It's through clubs such as this, that cars like the MR2 can be enjoyed by future generations.

Happy driving.

Nigel.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you... I failed to monitor my inbox and only came across your reply an hour ago!
But it's not too late.
How many Roadsters have you owned? I'm particularly interested in the Veilside - I don't have a photo of a MR with the Veilside kit, do you have one I might be able to use?
Can you explain to me the attraction of the MKIII to you - and which one was your favourite.

thanks again,

Nigel.

Apparently the books been published back in April called 'Mr2 the complete story'

Did anyone collaborate in the book on here? as it seems odd, that it seemingly ended up at a dead end as roc is concerned!

Gave myself a budget of £3250 for my 3rd roadster, as I got one for £500 under decided to spend £17 (ebay) of the balance on this book, which I've now (nearly) read.

The Mk1, 2 and 3 get a chapter each. Not surprisingly (given the Mk1 chapter also covers the story of how the MR2 project came into being and the Mk2 was in production for so long) the Mk3 chapter is the shortest, but it still runs to a healthy 39 pages.

It's called the complete story and it certainly seems to live up to the name, I found it an excellent and (on the whole) fascinating read
