Hi all, since fitting my new head unit the ariel goes up when I turn on the stereo whereas the old stock sony only did it when the radio was selected.

I know I can put an inline switch but I wanted to know how the ariel works?  Is the power antenna wire like a remote for an amplifier?

I'm trying to find out if the switch is set to off, does that signal the ariel to come down?

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

The aerial goes up when there is 12V on the control wire. It comes down when the 12V is removed

Perfect that's what I thought, so a simple rocker switch will do the job.

Thanks
