Not sure if this is what you mean? but mine is fitted here (pic below) no idea if it's stock or not , but my 2 is a jap import pfl.

Nothing is impossible when you don't know what you are talking about.

You may find this helpful http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46444#p541395 - I have not wired the switch yet but it certainly fits in the blanked off cut-outs to the left of the steering wheel.

Yes the FL switch will fit the PFL. I have one on mine.
On mine I swapped the various switches about so that they are in the same order as the FL spec car. This means the fog switch is on the right of the steering wheel.
Your best bet would be to approach a breaker who would have a bunch of these lying about.
I made abit of a how to guide that could come in handy when wiring up  l viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46909 l

These are the switches from a Toyota Picnic, (front and rear, the rear will get re-purposed). Beats $67.73 new from Toyota and maybe easier to obtain than MR2 ones. Not sure about the wiring as I have not fitted the TTE bumper yet but am sure that I can work it out when the time comes.
