Spare tyre problems

I know that the spare in the new mr2's is the skinny wheel. However i have also heard that the full sized tyre wont fit into the tyre compartment in the bonnet. So if you have an accident and need to use your spare, then you will have to put the punctured full size tyre in the car.

Is this true???

I think the fronts will go being 15" but doubt the rears.  TBO I'd keep a can of sealent in the car, that wa it will limp you to the nearest garage that way you won't have to worry where to put the tyre (Of course that assumes the punctures not too bad)

Thinking about this issue how does the spare on the facelift fit in place of a 16" rear and a 15" front   s:? :? s:?    s:?: :?: s:?:

Must be, cause some new cars actually come that way...
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

If you're talking about what you do with the dud after you've taken it off, see GSB's answer.  If you mean how does the spare fit in place when you've a puncture.... the 16 rears have a lower profile tyres than the 15 fronts, so I think they're the same diameter (or very close), so the spare will fit either.

Phil is correct.

however if the puncture is on teh back you should take off one of teh fronts, put that on tehr ear and the spare on teh front.

otherwise you will be spinning everytime you give it any throttle.

I wouldnt. Spinning one rear wheel when pulling away etc is a good reminder not to push it to hard, but the effect of the skinny tyre on one side of your main braking axle is pretty horrendous. I've had the skinny on both front and rear now, and I know which is the lesser evil!  s:wink:  s:wink:

Don't remove the spare  s;) ;) s;)

(Disclaimer: I'm only joking.. remove the spare if you wish, it won't *really* cause you to drive into a lamppost..)

P.S. Sorry Lauren!
