So I bought a new radio. Single DIN, and bought one of these:

The cables are right, but I have no idea how to connect the fascia adaptor to the car. For now I've mounted the radio in the top half of the slot and have a gaping hole underneath. I have a working radio, so that's good, but the hole below is a bit ugly.

What do I need to actually mount the fascia in the aperture? Do I need another part or is there some devious trick I'm missing? Should I just throw it out and find a blanking plate for the lower half?

There are other adapters (or were) that had a tray in the lower space. You might like to search on here or the www, and see if ditching the one you have (at least you got the cable), and starting again.

Yeah the auto-leads one has a tray, I find it very useful for sticking the phone / mp3 player in whilst it is connected to the stereo.

That looks like the one I had, just check the model numbers.

Autoleads Facia Adaptor FP-11-03, if you look on the Halfords website someone mentions they used this for their MR2 PFL.

Hope this helps.
