Hello,

To install a Genesis amp and to link it to one of Nath's UD boxes, would this kit do the trick?

Seems pretty good value but I'm not too familiar with these things!

Thanks

Cheers, Rich.

I've gone for it. Also just scored a Profile 2 from the bay of dreams and so it'll just be a case of putting it all in.

Is it worth getting a remote? I know my HU can control the sub but not sure if it'd be better to have a physical one, also. Something like:  m http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAMIS-LC-100- ... 2330092eaa m

Very nice. Genesis amps are lovely, I had one in my Mini before I bought my Helix. Where are you mounting it?

I'll be trying to get my greasy mitts on one when I get round to sorting the audio in my '2 (probably a profile 4 and run the speakers off 2 channels and bridge the sub).  s:) :) s:)

After seeing all the rave reviews on here, thought I'd be silly to go with a cheaper and bulkier one.

Hoping to mount it underneath the passenger seat. Looks like quite an involved job, hopefully shouldn't be too complex.

Would you run it with a physical remote?

I'd be interested to see if you can get it to fit under there. I was considering it but I just don't think it'll go in with enough ventilation.

I never used a remote when I had the setup in the Mini. I got it dialled in on the amp first and left it, then just tweaked the EQ on the head unit as required.

These seem to be mixed opinions on here as to whether it will fit. If not, the flat bit behind the seats, under the bins would be my second choice. I'm not particularly handy so wherever is easiest will probably be where it ends up. I'd like to avoid losing any storage space, wherever possible. It'll be powering a JL 6.5in in one of Nathan's underdash boxes and I plan on keeping the stock speakers for now.

What would you do?

Similar. My plan is to mount it on the flat bit behind the seats with 2 channels bridged to an under dash sub and then 2 channels powering my KEF KAR speakers.

I'd definitely get some flashing tape on the doors to sound deaden them in the first instance, I'd also look to swap out the speakers soon as they aren't great (and amp them in the longer term - you could get a second Profile 2 for them and have one amp behind each seat  s:D :D s:D  ).

That looks exactly like the kit I used to install a Genesis amp in my 2. Along with Focals and the UD sub. I am very happy with the sound now. I also taped up the doors with the horrible sticky stuff!  s:roll:  s:roll:

Been reading up on here about the Wickes flashing - sounds great and another job to put on the (ever-increasing) to-do list!
