Is this expensive?

Just been quoted £244 for a 4 year service (30K miles, but the year comes first).

I think it seems a little excessive, but I did ask what it entailed and apparantly they do things like take the brakes apart and clean them up and so on...........  s:? :? s:?  

Any experience at this age anyone? Costs?

take a look at this, keep reading till the end (look at the links I posted showing the leaflet).  I ended up paying only £160 after an initial quote of about £280!
