Bass shakers

Anyone tried putting small shakers on the seats?

I'm thinking of putting one under the butt and one behind the back of each seat. They are low power units that vibrate very nicely from the rear channels of our head unit.

Well I've put two in the passenger seat and they rock most of the seat quite nicely just from the rear channel of our head unit, which has a typical bs 4x50w peak rating which is more like 10-15wrms x4. Deep bass and subsonic rumbles can be easily felt through most of the body, just like sitting in a massage chair, so it would be a very bad thing to have on if feeling a little tired while driving   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:  It's a nice change to enjoy deep bass rumbles without having a huge spl.

Why is that? Maybe you're thinking of a big shaker?

These little ones are a lot like having a deep subwoofer at low volume, but you don't need an amp or a big heavy sub or box. Two of these little Dayton audio "puck" shakers weigh 556grams.

It's definitely not mental, or some sort of female toy, it's fairly relaxed, and unisex. The seat frame doesn't vibrate, just the center of the cushioning, so you can easily feel the bass and even all the really deep sub sonic vibrations that are normally missing from component speakers.
These little shakers combined with speakers that can make a bit of bass, such as decent 6.5" door speakers, make the car feel like there is at least a deep 12" or a very deep 10" subwoofer playing along at a calm volume.

If you want nightclub spl then shakers are useless, since you will need powerful subwoofers, which put more vibrations through the whole body anyway, and the seats, mirrors, car panels, everything vibrates like there's shakers all over the whole car.
