I'm looking at changing my speakers (is it 16.5cm size?) but all the ones I see on amazon are basic and under £30, whats the best ones for £50-£100ish which will fit? what do you guys use? Also I live in Guernsey so i'm extremely limited to which websites/shops i can buy from

If you wanted to spend a little more (well more than double actually but within your budget) then the Focal 165 A1's are an excellent choice and can be picked up for around the £100 mark. Top of your budget I know but very good, had them in my 2.
Also the best spend you can make is £10 on a roll of roof flashing to line the inside of the door skins  s;) ;) s;)

If you find some speakers on a site that you can't buy from I'd be happy for u to send me the money and I cld buy them. Then cld get them sent to u via courier. Realise it wld up your costs a bit but may give u wider choice.
Offer's there  :-) :-) :-)

None of my business really (and slightly off topic) but I used to be a fairly active member of Car Audio Direct's forum and bought all my stuff from them for my old ICE projects. Really knowledgable and helpful, I'd recommend them (although this is based on a good 5+ years since I last spoke to them).

Always welcome your input Andy, I'd be mad not to as u know your stuff
That's good to know as I am always a little cautious when buying online. Will these speakers fit and does it matter than my head unit is pioneer?
Anything else I would need to buy for fitting?

Yep, they should fit (pretty much the same as the ones Pav mentioned above and in the 'what have you done' thread) however I've not done any speakers in my '2 yet so don't know how much space you've got to play with for the cross-over.

Nope shouldn't matter about the head unit, they should all pretty much work with all speakers.

Anything else... you'll be soldering things so need a soldering iron, solder, flux and some heatshrink/tape. Also probably some speaker wire to wire up the cross-overs (unless they come with some) and you'll need to decide how you are mounting them (e.g. gutting the old speakers to use the fitting rings, or making some up). Also, as Ackers mentioned, while you have everything apart I'd do the door flashing to get the most out of the speakers.

It would be worth you fully understanding the install process before you start and, as I say, I haven't done it on these cars to help. Perhaps Mr Pavett could do you a little 'how-to' as he's recently done them? Might be worth a PM.   s:) :) s:)

If it helps I installed these speakers... and thanks for the help guys

Auna Goldblaster Car Audio Speakers (6.5" Drivers, 1200W Max & Neodymium Tweeters) - Gold

Which work brilliantly! Used the original brackets from the old speakers

used this guide  m http://spyderchat.com/forums/showthread ... 00-Install m

didn't need to mess around adjusting the door like he does in the guide though and i left the plastic rings on and just drilled into them.

I'm also in middle of installing a sub which should be done tomorrow

Auna AMP-CH02 Blue LED Car Amplifier (1400W Max, 2 Channel & Adjustable Low-Pass Filter) - Black
 m http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004 ... UTF8&psc=1 m
had to make some slight alterations to make it fit though
