Does anyone know much about this system as I've seen it on Takakaira and for what its worth it look a bit of a bargain.

It looks quite a comprehensive piece of kit, i'm pretty sure nobody has installed the system in a MR2 in this country but if anyone has any knowledge of it it would be greatly recieved.

The HKS CAMP System is an in-dash vehicle monitoring system that allows for multiple engine readings to be monitored to help "dial"in the vehicle for optimum performance on or off the track.

Analog Display

The analog display can indicate speed, RPM, gas mileage, fuel consumption and injector opening percentage. The CAMP includes peak data memorization and allows the scale to adjust according to current driving conditions.

Graph Display

This screen provides a data-recording feature that allows the user can evaluate driving conditions and engine performance. The feature of composing the graph by assigning any available data to X and Y, enables unique and special analysis.

Alarm Feature

This allows the user to set a designated limit for each data. CAMP will inform the user by sound and graph if any data passes the limit.

Digital Display

The bar graphs along with digital numbers indicate multiple data to simultaneously observe entire vehicle conditions.

Trip Function

This function provides five trip recorders that individually memorize the total driving distance, operation hours, fuel consumption and average gas mileage. This function can be used to manage vehicle maintenance, compare time and gas mileage between two different routes or managing driver information for long trips.

Fish Function

The fish function provides the opportunity to enjoy your driving experience in an entertaining way. Your driving technique, such as speed and gas mileage, changes the environment of the fish pond and affects the health of the tropical fish.

Friction Loss Calculation

CAMP calculates the friction loss and graphically displays the percentage of lost horsepower compared to genuine horsepower.

FEATURES:

Graphical data created by a 32 bit RISK CPU.

HKS Peak Hold/Warning Meter sensors can be connected optionally. (Junction box and Sensors available separately.)

Video signal switch allows the user to change from the CAMP displays to video games, VCR or vehicle navigation system by using the remote controller.

Thinking maybe it should be moved to electrical part of forum but I'll let the mods decide!

Another point, I was wondering if the camp system will support a touch screen instead of the normal type, am looking at this to fit in a navi-pod:

Lee how much are you budgeting on spending on this, as unless I'm wrong, it's a very expensive piece of Kit.  You have to buy the monitor seperately, and to get full functionality you have to purchase the various sensors IIRC

It's a very nice piece of kit, and with a turbo probably a nice way of integrating the info you need to keep an eye on the mecahnicals.  But NA I think it's more of a novelty.  Just my opinion of course!

I have thought about this before, but never got around to getting it.

It's here  m http://www.getgreddy.co.uk/shop/index.php?cPath=24 m  for 200quid.But what do you get for that?? It seems you get the CAMP box but to add any harness to show any useful parameters you need the junction box etc. By the time you've got everything needed and a screen it's an expensive option, though it does look good. N/A i wouldn't bother, what's there to monitor?

I will eventually get a turbo but for now it's mostly for looks to be honest! I will also add the various harnesses later with the turbo.  Is it likely to be easy to wire in to the ecu?

Atleast your honest. It does look good, have a look on SC at Syderchi's '2, he has it on his, i do remember seeing pictures somewhere.

It will be easy to connect it to the ECU for the signals, for me even easier as it's some of the same wires i spliced into for the e-manage.

A friend has one on his 300ZX - very funky bit of kit..

Though by far the best bit is the aquarium.. the more economically you drive (and ergo the less emissions), the healthier the fish stay.. drive too hard and they all die  s:lol:  s:lol:

And no.. I'm not kidding..  s:) :) s:)

Great thanks, just one other question, it shouldn't effect me adding a unichip also?  I presume it won't providing I spice in a sensible place.

Oh also can I get away with a 6.5 inch screen in a navi-pod or does it have to be 7 inch?

Don't know about the screen, even though i have a nav pod sat here, suppose it depends on the size of the frame.

It won't effect adding any piggy back ECU.

If you are thinking of going turbo then i wouldn't add a unichip. Not that it isn't capable but most of the kits that are available supply there own tuned ECU now, and can handle bigger injectors and direct injector fueling. ***Hides ready for defence attack***  s:wink:  s:wink:

I didn't know that, I was going to go for the PE with the unichip (instead of the Greddy) and have it re-tuned at millways.  That way the chip would be tuned to my car specifically.

I'd be interested to know the pro's and con's of what chip to go for.

As I said before, I am thinking of going PE with the MWR intercooler, not planning on touching engine internals, may need to up the injectors and fuel pump maybe.  Hoping for 250bhp but still thats not going to happen for at least another 14 months.   s:roll:  s:roll:

Well I have spoke with Sumo Power and they have advised me against fitting the Camp system as the instructions are in Japanesse and its a bugger to fit.

I'm wondering if it will even display the speed and revs, looking at all the info i can find it's seems as though it really wouldn't be much good to me unless I do turbo, which won't be for a while!

I'll wait a while and speak to Spyderchi next time he is on MSN. (Sensible Lee!  s:roll:  s:roll:  )
