Hi All
Every time I touch something - there's always a consequence (usually negative)
I took the Mr for a local shopping trip yesterday and all was fine.
Back home I tackled removing the door cards and getting the speakers out which were now not working due to water damage.
Kick strips and footwell covers removed I pulled the speaker cables through and re-fitted the covers.
I'd left the cards off as I have replacement stock items that were better.
Then it happened - shut the door and couldn't set the alarm.
sat inside and shut door and can central lock with the internal switch no problem.
Then saw the dreaded door open light on - omg now what have I screwed up.
I first thought it was the door plungers but they were working fine before I tampered with everything.
So here is my problem - how or where to look. It could be a wire I have sandwiched when putting the footwell / kickstrips back on.
Has anyone any ideas - ie. where to check or how to check. I could do with a circuit tester but which one to buy.
It's in the lockup at the min with no alarm on and just the doors locked - plus a red light on the dash - any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mart.    s:cry:  s:cry:

When you say you pulled the speaker wiring out, do you mean all of it from the door through to the car?
you may have just disturbed or pulled a wirwire from the back of the door plungers.

I think that kind of points to the issue, I'd check the wiring under the kick strips, may need to remove the plunger to check the rear like Nic's suggested.

Thanks guys, will do.
Hopefully if the interior light is stuck on it hasn't drained my battery as been out since Saturday.

Any ideas as to a decent circuit tester to buy so I can check any future wiring and circuits.

Great to have such good advice from forum members -  it's the difference between struggling and getting the job done.

Thanks.
