Exhaust fitting

Right,

I want to take my new dual exhaust to a garage to get it fitted, would it be worth avoiding places like Kwik Fit in favour of somewhere more respectable, should i take it to Mr T?.

Also, in the instructions on sypdermagazine it suggests replacement bolts and such, will the garage have these or do I need to procure them from Toyota first?

Finally, do you reckon there's any chance said garage would gut my precats while they're at it.  Of maybe let me loose with a screwdriver whilst they're in the middle of swapping the exhaust?

If it's anything like my local Kwik Fit I wouldn't bother!
I took my last car and an exhaust there expecting them to fit it but they refused  s:x :x s:x  
The reason being that I hadn't bought it off them!
Suppose I can see their point really.

I wouldn't take my car to Kwik Fit if you paid me  s;) s;)  But then I wouldn't try to get Mr T to fit it either (I pity da fool! ahem), as they'll probably give the same answer "You didn't get it from us".

See if you can find a local exhaust specialist (there are still the odd ones around), or failing that a smallish local garage. If you have a brance of Micheldever (or one of their subsidiaries, ProTyre are one) around then try giving them a call too, they did a fantastic job on my R19 a few years back (and I get my tyres etc from there too usually, good folks).

I've not read the article but - bolts, I would think a garage or exhaust place would have some suitable ones laying around, but a tyre & exhaust place probably won't. Gaskets they definitely won't have, so you might be best off getting the lot from Toyota first, just in case. Don't want to get half way through and be left with no exhaust, afterall  s;) s;)

If you can find a good small garage or exhaust specialist, maybe, but it's fairly unlikely. The chances of them letting you do anything to the car while it's in their care is even smaller - from their point of view it could open them up to liability for work that you did (if you see what I mean).

It's perhaps worth a shot, though, just on the off chance - but if it was my garage... I wouldn't let you  s:) s:)  (But then, I'd offer to do it for you..)

Managed to find a mechanic with his own workshop in Egham, seemed like a nice chap, says bolts etc wont be a problem.

Forgot to ask how much though DOH!
