Rattling noise from clutch

I have been getting a rattle from the clutch when the engine is warmed up during a long drive.  I have taken it to the dealers and they took it out for a drive and told me it was ok, and to take it back if it makes the noise again.

The rattle goes when I depress the clutch pedal.

Anyone had this problem?

Lee. Not so much a rattle, but I get a squeak (when the engine is warmed up) that goes away with the lightest of touches on the clutch.

There's been some scary talk on Spyderchat.com about clutch thrust bearings causing these kinds of noises, although my local garage said it was "normal" and I should put up with it!

I'd be interested to know if you get this diagnosed and sorted. Keep me posted.

Mine had that noise...it went away with a new bearing.
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Tem - is it a critical fault, or just an irritation? New thrust bearing sounds like a big job.

I'm not really sure...some say it's nothing to worry about if it doesn't get worse, some say it might break any day  s:? :? s:?  I was assuming the first and kept an eye (or should I say an ear) on it and it didn't seem to get worse before my engine blew (not related to this).

It is a major job...I had it done when my engine was replaced, so it wasn't much extra on top of that...
