End of discussion.
Stop being so bloomin lazy and get on with it FFS.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Have to say, it doesn't look girly to me. I really like the alternative colour too, either way, is going to look good.

Quick update....

Got another pigment today, a blue and green chameleon .. It's more subtle like a black with sparkly bits that change from blue to green.

In 2 weeks my missus goes visiting family for a couple of weeks so I will have lots of spare time, apart from building the 3d printer, I will completely spray the car but still not cannot decide on which colour????

Anyone is welcome to throw in an opinion as both colours are good, but I honestly cannot make one decision...

The second one looks like a better product, smoother transition.

I like the purply green one more than the glittery green one, although they're both very nice.

They both look very sexy, but have to agree the purpley one is better in my opinion.

Is that a motorbike fuel tank you have sprayed to test it on? It's a great shape to see the effect!

No it's a photo from eBay.  The thing sprayed is a speed shape. It's what sprayers use to test colours. Has curves and stuff to properly see how it will turn out.

I sprayed my engineers toolbox again whilst he was busy today, to see the colour... His toolbox is looking quite funky now   s:lol:  s:lol:

Ah I see, a specially created shape for the job.
I'm disappointed more of your engineers haven't ended up with funky colour tool boxes though  s:) :) s:)

I prefer the first one, but I am of the age to remember metal flake paint, it looked good on beach buggies anyway.

Ok, made my decision.. I've decided to spray the car the green blue violet proper chameleon..

So a week on Sunday I'm going to start it again from scratch.. I've got a decent 2k 5:1 primer so it only needs 10% thinners which should prevent any reactions on the bits I've sprayed, the stock paint does not react.

I will take lots of pics through the the week, im going to do the front bumper and bonnet, then rear bumper, then boot and spoiler, wing mirrors, then the rest at once.

In theory it should turn out like this...

But knowing my luck it will turn out like this....

Just curious, but if you paint different panels at separate times, do you risk the colours not flowing properly from one panel to the other?

Leethesparky

#324
The wings, doors and sideskirts will be done at the same time because I need to run the gun down the full length of the car to get an even spread of pigment, all other bits will be sprayed at the angle they sit on the car so  the pigment will flow the same way, in the photos the bonnet looks different to the front bumper but that's because of the difference in angle between the bonnet and the bumper.
I am going to premix the pigment into 3 litres of thinners so the chameleon concentration will be constant between mixes.
And whatever number of coats goes on the first panel will be the same number for the rest of them.

And hopefully it will all flow properly
