My engine in Bits....

Hi Guy / Girls,

Just been to look at my car (now in pieces) in the garage, hell it's not very big when it's in bits is it !

I would have got photo's, but didn't have my camera.

I had a chat with them about what had gone wrong and it seems the bores are going oval, then the piston rings are moving around, which is then letting the oil through.....

basically I will be getting a whole new middle bit of the engine (well guess that is the engine) and then the had and bottom (sump) is being refitted.


Car looked quite funny with the engine out....

hopefully getting it back end of next week, so I have a lovely new Yaris with A/c to run about it ! cool !

1ZZ - Car was purchase new in Nov 2000 - Therefore car is exactly 4 Years old.

Mileage is now 64,000 - but cat and engine failed (partly) at 61,500....

As for taking my engine out....

I buy and use cars - I'm not interested in the mechnical bits, I know where the oil and water goes and how to polish it..... as for the rest - thats up to the garage to sort out....

I'll leave the engineering stuff to my cousin who loves taking things to bits, currenty building a Dax Rush....
