Uhm...I just noticed that the bottom of my oilpan looks like it has hit the ground  s:? :? s:?  Full of small dents, scratched paint and rusty...

Looking at the car, I can't see how I could've hit it while driving, especially with the "diaper" in place. Also, I think I should've noticed it...

Anyone have any ideas how I could've done it?
(or am I off to Toyota to complain they've done it when they swapped the new bottom end in?)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Do all the scratches run in the same direction? (i.e. from front to back?) If so, then you've hit something. Random direction sctratches and dents are caused by dragging the engine across the workshop floor when removing or installing it..

The scratches aren't long enough to notice any direction  s:? :? s:?

In that case it just be damage casued during removal/installation... Its unavoidable really. As long as there are no massive dents, and no leaks, I wouldn't worry about it.

During installation, as it's new (or at least it should be)...it doesn't leak and the dents aren't big. Just enough to crack the paint and make it rust though  s:? :? s:?  I guess I'll just paint it...thanks  s8) 8) s8)
