Replacing my main cat with a new one and it doesn't come with any heat shields so do I swap them over from my old one or run without any?

I've also got some exhaust wrap that I was going to wrap my manifold with but was wondering whether or not I should use that to wrap the cat?

My cat is wrapped. I think this is because it is 200 cel and it helps it come up to temp quicker.
Have been told by more than 1 person that wrapping the cat isn't a good idea.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

My manifold and mid-pipe are wrapped due to lack of heatshields. It certainly got the engine bay temps down, before fitting you could barely touch the engine lid but it's fine now

I was one of the first to fit the fleabay cat to mine, I also run the cheap fleabay downpipe and Cobra Quad, I don't have a single heatshield on my car and it hasn't been any bother on long runs, short runs, fast runs or slow runs  s;) ;) s;)

Yeah I know you've said that before Les, just had that thought about wrapping it and whether it was ok.

Nic has also said to be that if it was wrapped it could get wet, with being that low down, and that could cause dampness to be retained in the wrap causing premature wear.

Might just put the heat shields back on and hope I dont get a rattle!   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:

Don't forget to  read  the  warranty  blurb that  comes with it, if you  use exhaust  paste  before the  cat and it gets  in it will  void the  two year warranty, there  might  be other  stuff  like wrapping I'm not sure.
