Have today got the Celica 190 on my driveway that I bought July last  year!. Plan to start taking it apart soon to put the engine into my MR2 Red Edition
Any tips and advise from those of you that have done this already are welcome.
Have got stuffed away in the garage.
Monkey Wrench racing swop manifold to bolt to my TTE exhaust, swop loom, VVTL loom, cold air intake
New Toyota clutch, lift bolts,
MR2 gearbox with LSD, Celica gears with MR2 6th gear
Anything else I should change whilst the engine is out? Water pump
Will also be renewing rear sub frame at the same time

Have you got the engine mounting bridge? if not pm Headcase for one. You might have problems with the mwr loom as it doesn't have the immo wiring in it {I could be wrong about that though}

Yep Dave  mwr loom need modding for UK ecu if you got a jdm ecu it be ok

have got the MWR mount, is there a reliable wring diagram showing what I have to repin and mod etc?

tps wiring
Brown is ground - doesn't go to the ECU
 Blue/red stripe is VC, goes to the ECU
 Yellow/green stripe is VTA, goes to the ECU.

 Swapping VC and Ground will reverse the polarity, but with the ground not going to the ECU it has to happen at the plug.on the tps  

Lets Start off with the A Plug..

 The A7 pin From the ECU needs to be Taken to Ground.. BUT Others have left this one Alone with No troubles.. your Choice..

 The B Plug gets a little More Complicated..

B 12 in the Spyder is Nothing.. But the Celica ECU wants to see a Ground there..
 Again.. others have Left this Alone..

B16/B25 in the Engine Harness, is the Left Side O2 Sensor for the Spyder Car.. but the Celica ECU wants to see the After Cat Sensor Here.. So you need to go Grab the Wires that are at C8 and C9 in the Wire Harness, and Move them Here..

 Moving to the C Harness..
Celica C6/C7 are the Outputs for the Lift Sol Wires.. But the Spyder Wire Harness has these for Something Else.. C6 is Direct Ground in the Spyder Harness.. and C7 is Missing.. So C6 has one Wire necessary for the Lift Wire, but C7 needs to be added.. this is where the Additional 2ZZ Wireharness can come in..

The C6 in the Wire Harness is Direct Ground.. you can Take this Back to A7 For a Ground that is Missing.. That will fix that missing Ground Wire..

Next is C21.. this WAS used as an O2 Sensor Input, in the Spyder Configuration.. and you Moved the Harness Wires to B Plug.. But the ECU side of C21 will now be used to detect the Oil Pressure Switch of the Lift Sol..

 The D Plug can be Left Alone..

Pulled the engine out of the celica today. Removed the 2 lift bolts. One of them appears to have the unthread bit missing from the end  of it!. New ones that i have got have a more pointed end. Put a pick in each hole. Will not go in as far in the one with the shorter bolt. Engine ran fine before removal. Put old bolts back or have i got an extra job on my hands?  Any advice please

Engine now on stand in garage. Cams removed to knock the lift shaft  forward to remove the broken lift bolt. Got old bit out . Shaft out of alignment and will not push back in.... Got to now remove timing cover etc to get shaft sorted. Have fuond power steering pulley has not got a bolt holding it on to the pump! Just stayed on pump with a  bit of bolt deep down inside it. Anyone got the right bolt kicking around?

You delete the power steering pump for the swap? The MR2 has an electric pump up front to take care of that.

Sounds more like the AC pulley.

Am in need of a new rocker shaft for the lift. remains of lift bolt jammed in, had to drift the shaft out of the head against the remaining part of the lift bolt

Been a long time due to work etc but today the 2ZZ fired up after some online help from headcase and dave heap!
Goes very well and the induction noise is pretty load at full chat!
