Central Locking

Hi guys, another newby, I've had my 2001 roadster for almost a year now and I am having problems with the central locking controlled from the key, The unlock seems to work fine but I can only get it to lock if I press the lock button straight after pressing the unlock button, and I can't get it to dead lock at all.  I spoke to Toyota and they want approx £150 for a new key. If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful otherwise, i guess it's £150 to toyota.!!

if you need the guts of a key then i have one here somewhere. you would just have to get Mr.T to program. PM me

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I have tried a new battery!
