Cobra exhaust fitment issue

Hello. Cobra quad Exhaust came in, very good quality, just one problem. Small bag with bolts was broken and i only found 2 bolts, no washers, no springs. Is it right? It doesn't sit very well,  left side terminal is a lot outer than the left one, maybe because washers and springs are missing or could be my catless downpipe? Thanks for any reply.

I'll post some pics and details soon as I can.  First thing is the connection to the cat.  The standard has bolts and springs.  The Cobra you have should have nuts welded and two new stainless bolts.  You can set aside the old bolts and springs and do NOT try to torque the new bolts to the old standard.  Fit a new gasket and they should mate happily, so to speak   s:wink: :wink: s:wink:    The gasket crushes and should be fitted dry.

Thanks for the reply. The problem could be my Cat ( which is "custom" so could be in a different angle, but shouldn't), and when i torque down all the bolts on it, the right terminal goes backwards. I tried to not tighten it till it goes hard and it fits better but moves around.. Dunno really..

Ok.  First what you should have included a bracket and rubber hanger.  The one I first received was not correct and was replaced by Cobra.  See later pic.  This has been an issue for years and some only use the 3 hangers without issues.


You need to remove the old gasket from the cat, which needed a bit of effort:


I then cut the bumper on each side:


This is where I fitted the new bracket, but you can see it does not support the pipe:


And the final line-up, because it looks right but the bumper and all the bits are not perfectly symmetrical:

You will not get a good seal without a new gasket as it crushes to fit and it does not have to be that tight.  The old gasket is probably like a weld and the profile of the old pipe.

Oh and get a genuine MrT gasket   s:bowdown: :bowdown: s:bowdown:

Early morning memory: I've used a stainless washer for each bolt (bit cheap of Cobra not to include)   s:? :? s:?
