Looking to scrabble together a refurb kit to sand down, fill any dinks/scuffs, prime (filler primer????), respray and lacquer back to original.

If I do need to use filler, does the metal of the wheels make a difference to what filler to use?

Also is there some special anti rust coating I need to apply to ensure rust doesn't come back from under the surfaces?

Any recommendations of stuff you've used during this process or things/products to avoid that are useless?

Alloys mate.

Yep I used a boggo standard filler from halfrauds

Key is all on the prep, make sure that you really have sanded everything down properly and got rid of all the imperfections before you start doing anything. If your doing it by hand it should take you a day to sand all four of them down.
