2zz air injection workarounds

I'm in the middle of swapping 2zz, and am wondering what to do with air injection.

There are many versions of stock air injection on 2zz (mostly extracted from https://www.ddperformanceresearch.com/admin/pdf_files/ZZ_Exhaust_Manifold_Identification_guide.pdf):
- no air injection (2000 -> 2003 jan)
- no air injection: ports on the head, but with block-off manifold (2003 ??)
- early air injection: no ports on the head, but pipe injecting directly into the manifold (2003 ?? EU-only ??)
- std air injection: ports on the head, air injection manifold (late 2003 and onward)

I happen to have the 3rd version, early air injection from 2zz uk celica 2003 - with no ports on the head to block manually. However, the exhaust manifold injection pipe will be removed, along with the air pump and pipes.

Now I'm reading the ECU will probably throw CEL because of that. Even if I wanted to plug the air pump (just electrically, not on the manifold), I cannot do that because 1zz harness doesn't have any connectors for it.

Is there any way around the CEL I'm missing (besides swapping ecu)? Also, does it interfere with normal operation, e.g. ECU going into safe-mode or anything like that?

Mine has thrown the CEL once in six months for 'Secondary air injection system' and occasionally shows it as a 'pending' fault. This is a 2003 UK Corolla engine with the ports in the head blocked off. It causes absolutely no detriment to the running of the car as far as I can tell.

Cheers, that's good to know.

And you are running 2003 UK Celica ECU as well? (probably with 2-wire knock sensor?)
