Hi

It is -10 degrees celsius over here now, and at cold start I have to drive at least 10 minutes or 10km before the temp dial is anywhere near the middle of the range. I believe my previous MR2 heated up a lot faster from cold.

How fast is your car heating up?

Is it easiest to replace from underneath?

I think that's normal for me. I have a 2zz and it's not at the middle in a 4mile journey. 30-40mph all the way. My old 1zz used to warm up quite quickly but I'm sure there it was showing early signs of head gasket failure

Are you not using an engine preheater? I thought they were pretty much standard equipment in the whole of Scandinavia.
Tis nice when its -20 outside and you get into a warm car  s:) :) s:)

Thanks guys.

No preheater. This car has barely seen winter, but when it is nice and cold like now, snowy but not too salty,  I like to take it for a nice winter drive.  s:) :) s:)

I agree it is nice with a preheater. I sell them too (Defa and Calix), but don't think I'll bother since I barely use it wintertime.
