current 1zz 5 speed box with 2zz conversion

Hi,

Just a quick question.   I have nearly all the bits for my conversion now.    The only thing that is worrying me is the 6 speed box that came with the celica I purchased.

It sounded a bit whiny,   I would like to get this rebuilt before I put it into the Mr2 and get the LSD put in at the same time.


My question is, Could I fit my 2zz to the current 5 speed box then fit the 6 speed at a later date?

Yes you can but ..... the 2zz gearbox has different ratios to allow the engine to rev, with the 1zz gearbox you will have a crap delivery of power
Cute & fluffy animals were definitely hurt during the production of this post, there're plenty more where they came from

So Am I Right in thinking I can use the 6 speed selector and Cables from a MR2 on the 2zz box?

Check with Brettfield999 he has 1ZZ box on a 2ZZ
