I have what looks like an oil leak on the right side of the block...I'm guessing it's the timing chain seal??? ...but I don't really know. I need to run it into a garage to get it checked out.

I found this on Fleabay ( m https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182072857141 m  ) and wondered if it's worth a punt or should I just take it to a garage or attempt to fix it myself ?

What are your thoughts??

Likely. Get a new o-ring from Toyota and change it yourself. Get a can of brake cleaner and spray that area clean. Then watch it for further leaks. If  Ieaks... Saved yourself a lot of cash for a 15 min job
...neutiquam erro.

Ah, so it's a simple o-ring...I think even I could manage that...though not sure what I'm doing whatsoever...I think maybe I should invest in a workshop manual.

That's absolutely perfect at least now I know how simple it is...I'd better get onto Mr T tomorrow for that o-ring.

Thank you [emoji4]

Garage = last option; not first.

PM me and I'll send you one of my special slightly-better-seal O rings.  Also, in the 'How To' section, take a look at understanding you chain tensioner.

So I thought I'd take a quick look in the engine bay for the timing belt tensioner....I found it......but isn't it missing the stud on the lower section?? How is that nut holding on??

Guessing the nut seized onto the stud, so replaced it with a bolt instead
...neutiquam erro.

Is that definitely a bolt? It looks to have a hollow in the head if it is...I assumed there was a hole there. I tried to take a better picture......but I don't think it's much better.

That's a bolt.  It will do the job just fine.
Typical leaky tensioner oily mess.

Thank god it is a bolt and not a sheared spindle.

I can always take a few more pictures if you want some for reference for the 'how to..' guide.
