SMT w/ TRC & VSC => how to disable those

I recently had a faulty O² sensor (error code C1201) which caused the CEL and, almost immediatly a VSC & TRC light.

it *seems* the computer entered a mode in which the VSC & TRC are *almost* off.

*almost* meaning it doesn't brake a wheel on big drifts or sideways burnouts. it does beep and does nothing (maybe it does something very late but I didn't want to go there for the sole purpose of testing!).

2 questions then

- have anybody had the same experience?

- is somebody able to tell me if a simple switch on the O² sensor would reproduce such an event (knowing the computer did reset the TRC & VSC error code as soon as the C1201 O² sensor error code was sorted)?

this would be the cheapest "fun mode" (not to call it "race mode") ever...

go to Toyota dealer

ask for a real sport car : MR2 Roadster with manual gearbox

he will ask you a small difference fee to do the swap

If is still behaving the same way now the O2 prob has been cleared, I would take a serious look at the behaviour of the ABS under heavy breaking - I suspect the rear's will lock up with no ABS activation. Once the fronts start to lock, the ABS may activate but by then it will be too late  s:( s:(

This was the way my first '03 SMT behaved, and Toyota gave up trying to fix it and wrote it off, which meant I got a nice new '53 plate with 0 miles on the clock (the old one had covered 14,000 before Toyota gave in an scrapped it!)
