SMT w/ TRC & VSC => how to disable those

I recently had a faulty O² sensor (error code C1201) which caused the CEL and, almost immediatly a VSC & TRC light.

it *seems* the computer entered a mode in which the VSC & TRC are *almost* off.

*almost* meaning it doesn't brake a wheel on big drifts or sideways burnouts. it does beep and does nothing (maybe it does something very late but I didn't want to go there for the sole purpose of testing!).

2 questions then

- have anybody had the same experience?

- is somebody able to tell me if a simple switch on the O² sensor would reproduce such an event (knowing the computer did reset the TRC & VSC error code as soon as the C1201 O² sensor error code was sorted)?

this would be the cheapest "fun mode" (not to call it "race mode") ever...

thanks for sharing!

If is still behaving the same way now the O2 prob has been cleared, I would take a serious look at the behaviour of the ABS under heavy breaking - I suspect the rear's will lock up with no ABS activation. Once the fronts start to lock, the ABS may activate but by then it will be too late  s:( :( s:(

This was the way my first '03 SMT behaved, and Toyota gave up trying to fix it and wrote it off, which meant I got a nice new '53 plate with 0 miles on the clock (the old one had covered 14,000 before Toyota gave in an scrapped it!)
