Hi, my steering pump went a few days ago and it's been like trying to drive a tiger tank, not good. I've bought a new pump off of ebay today but I was wondering if someone could help me find a recommended Power Steering fluid to best use.

Apocryphal tales inbound - Toyota only, apparently.

Alternatives - I've seen Ravenol mentioned.  I used the Total EHPS stuff for about a tenner, hasn't caused my any issues 500 miles later.

Tried to digest some of the numbers here:

Conventional wisdom is to stick with the correct Toyota fluid. I probably missed it but I'm not aware of anyone reporting back on a like-for-like alternative (edit: except the post above  s:) :) s:)  )

Part number is 08886-01206. Its not cheap - one can will do more than a few complete fluid changes.
A friendly Parts Dept may offer a Club discount. Committee set up a number of main dealer discounts many moons ago. Some have fallen away but its worth asking nicely!

From what I've read, I wouldn't touch it unless it specifically states electro hydraulic power steering.
