Radio issue, CD OK

Hi, I have an 06 FL. The Radio head unit was fine until Yesterday -  Radio will not power on when i press the power button  - lcd stays blank, ariel remains retracted. When i put in a cd however, the cd plays, and the ariel extends, but still no lcd display, and power button won't power the unit off. I have to eject the cd to stop the music
Maybe co-incidence, but this happened after washing the car, and i set the alarm off after chucking a bucket of water over it to rinse (roof up of course    s:wink: :wink: s:wink:  ). Can anyone help?

Don't throw water on the car again? Hope that helps!

It is a weird one. I wonder if the display and controls use the same circuit board, which is why it doesnt do anything. The cd uses a different board that is still fine.
I dont have a FL, is the volume and power the same button/dial?

Can you increase volume when listening to the cd?

Yeah, i agree, no more bucket chucks! Thanks for reply Stu. Yeah, volume and power is same button, and turning the volume dial doesnt increase or decrease the volume.
Embarrasing confession. Don't know if you ever heard of ancient arcade game "outrun" (where you drive a covertible ferrari 512 testarossa). My 8 year old thought it would be hilarious if i ripped the game sountrack to cd, and play it in the car when i took him out for a spin in the new 2. Well, put cd in at traffic lights at red, roof down, fair bit of surrounding traffic, volume was loud, and couldnt turn it down. Felt like a complete fool! Took far to long before i thought to try eject button....  s:oops: :oops: s:oops:
