Hey all this is my first post on the forum so please take pity on a moron if it has been asked a thounsand times before  s:) :) s:)

After test driving various mr2's im 99% certain i want one.

after lurking on this site one word kept cropping up 'pre-cats'

I dont know much about the internal workings of cars and was wondering if anyone could tell me what these are, what the effect etc , or a link on the sitethat will tell me- thanks  s:) :) s:)

Pity you...I mean welcome!  s:P :P s:P

Precats are small cats that are in the manifold.
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Welcome along Stifler (like the name!!!), but as this has been mentioned at least.....ooooohhhhh.......1 million times, I would suggest using the "Search" factility at the top right of the page and see what it comes up with cos there is LOADS on this site about it and I am pretty darn sure that you will find everything you need to know in this.

Hope this helps!!!  s:D :D s:D

Yeah, in response to my own post, sorry if it came across a little forthright! Not meant to. Basically, don't worry about the pre-cat problems. They get sorted one way or the other. Just buy one and enjoy it!! Best fun you can have with your clothes on (I think.......  s:? :? s:?  ). Deal with whatever comes your way when you have to.........

Don't worry. That's what the warranty/extended warranty is for. Or invest in a long (destructive) screwdriver.  s:wink:  s:wink:

Buy it already and enjoy the fun! Past two days I've been remembering what top-down high-revving motoring is all about.  s:wink:  s:wink:   Roll on the spring!  s:D :D s:D

Welcome, and top colour choice BTW.

A lot of us buying in the last year or so have gone through the pre-cat issue over and over again.  I bought one anyway, and it really is a small percentage that fail.

It's a great car to drive and own.
