Painting wiper blades

I sprayed my wiper blades some time ago, I used 2 part spray acrylic then lacquer, they have both cracked and look like crocodile skin, I and now going to spray with single spray, should that work or do I need to get them powder coated, I saw a few arms for sale, but look as though they've been spray to sell.

id sand back to metal then etch prime and paint

sounds like it reacted with old paint

Will do, I thought it might have been something to do with the heat being black, something happened but took a long time to show.
