I think my Chain tensioner is leaking again.

I replaced the seal with a new one from MrT 2 months again but it looks as though its leaking again as there was a small oil puddle on my garage floor a week after we went on a 240 mile road trip.

Is it recommended to put a bit of silicone on the face plate when fitting?

The trick is not to use the Toyota O ring.  Use an imperial size - works out as 21.82 mm x 3.53 mm in metric.  They are available from Sealforce (you can find them on ebay). I use the Viton ones.
I've got two left, so I can send you one.
PM me your address.
BTW: Have a look to see if it's oily directly below the tensioner on the engine.  Just to be sure the drip isn't coming from somewhere else.

Hi Carolyn
Yesd the oil is fresh & clean just by the tensioner plate and gets dirty towards the bottom of the engine.
I cant see where else it could be coming from!

Search for O rings on Ebay.  Look for Sealforce, go to their shop.

Mind you, I've just ordered ten more.  so you could ask me for one.
