Hi Chaps,

Can someone tell me if silicone is needed anywhere when replacing the 1zz valve cover gasket, a few things I found online suggest silicone should be dabbed in a few locations, but can't find specifics / pictures.

Also I can't seem to find the tightening torque for the camshaft bolts.

Thanks,

Carolyn

A smear of sealant where the timing cover meets the cylinder head, leaving it smooth.  Nothing else on the gasket.

23 N·m (235 kgf·cm, 17 ft·lbf) for the big ones
13 N·m (133 kgf·cm, 10 ft·lbf) for for the little ones.

Ok cool I'll flatten it down with a spatula before refitting later.
