As quite a few have these, or just bought them, i'm setting up a thread to compare, and hopefully to show what differences certain mods make.

Only enter results here please, not a discussion on the GTech meter in general.

We will need any mods(performance related!!) to your car listed.
A before and after run if adding a mod to see the difference it makes
The weight you've entered into GTech (as obviously some have heavy wheels, spare still in etc)

Then list what data you get

1. 0-60 time
2. 60-0 braking time
3. 1/4 mile E.T
4. 1/4 mile trap speed
5. Horsepower
6. Instantaneous G's
7. Continuous G's

You don't have to do all the above tests, there just what the unit can do.So as you get them, let us know.

Enjoy.

Any idea of what the weight should be - standard car, one person av weight + half tank petrol?

Had my '2 weighed on a truck scale (+/- 10 kg)

With 1/2 tank full, air conditioning and some junk in the boot the car weighed in at just under a ton (990 kg).

So with a passenger (80 kg with clothes on!   s:wink:  s:wink:  ) I set my G-tech to 1070 kg.

BTW I don't know what version of software you are using in your G-Tech, but there's a free upgrade (Firmware) that adds a number of really cool features to the G-Tech:

There's a new Road Racer mode capable of recording up to 3 hours of racing/driving... pretty cool!!

I had some quick runs on local roads and I got:

0-60 7.4s and 60-0 134 feet. Although it was a bit damp.   s:( :( s:(

No mods. I didn't have enough space to try the quarter mile times.

As alot have just bought the "cheap" gtech, there should be more people that are able to input some figures now. Maybe no-one will add to here but it would be good info if everybody that can, will.

My best 0-60 was 5.3secs, couldn't get good grip in 1st though.

I'm planning on doing some figures for my car and as i add mods.

Will get some now (just gutted pre cats), and then as after i add each mod:
TRD Filter
H&S Inlet Pipe
H&S Exhaust
Unichip.

Hopefully it will give a good indication of what they actually do  s:) :) s:)

The hp figures that the GTech are giving me are a wee bit strange.

Eventhough the weight is accurate (anyway to within 20kg or 40lbs) the hp figures are spread out: from about 85 whp to 112 whp with most measurements at around 98 whp.

Got the car dynoed by a professional and it actually produces 119 whp and an estimated 148hp (110 kW) at the flywheel (calculated by the dyno computer from coastdown losses.)

The air temp and pressure was about the same (GTech tests carried out on the same day).

My warm-up CATs have been gutted, I have a TRD high response exhaust and I've replaced the narrow inlet tube with 80mm aluminium vent tubing (a lot cheaper and just as efficient as an expensive pipe from TRD!) The flywheel figure (from the dyno run) is about 7% above stock quoted power and fits in well with the mods.

Remember that GTech doesn't give you the wheel hp, but whp-drag. Wind resistance prevents those figures from ever being right. Even a small wind can make a difference, depending on direction.
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Anyone like to look at at Tem's suggestion of looking at braking performance with and without ABS?
