Steering wheel off centre

I am still in a huge learning curve with my 2, so please be kind lol.

I have just replaced a rear suspension arm and now the steering wheel is considerably off centre. Is this down to the replacement or something more than an alignment would correct?

Do I need to check out a possible steering fault?

Thank you in advance.   s:D :D s:D

Which one of the arms did you replace? Do you mean it's physically off centre if you're stopped, or you're having to steer off centre to compensate and drive in a straight line?

Definitely get an alignment done, it would seem a coincidence if it's not related. Also check the torque settings on what you've replaced are correct.

Rear drivers side replaced. Driving in a straight line the steering wheel is about 15 degrees down on the righthand side. If I move the steering wheel to the straight position as it should be driving in a straight line the car steers left. The steering wheel is just not aligned with the wheels...hope that males sense.

Do you have a stock/standard wheel? It's possible it wasn't put on straight in the first place.
Other than that, I'd just take for alignment and see what they say...

Yes standard wheels.

Thank you for the help.

Hi,

'Onion' asked you which arm you replaced.  He had his reasons.  There are three suspension arms on each side at the rear.  Each does a different job.  One, in particular, controls the rear wheel alignment.... which will affect how the car steers...

I think the conclusion Stu and Carolyn are hinting for here are; it's the arm you replaced. The "rear one" is the one that adjusts toe. You'll likely find that your driver's side rear wheel is pointing inwards towards the front left wheel. The little plate on subframe side of the arm you replaced should kind of be aiming with the flat side southwest.
Alignment will sort it. Or give it a try yourself until the wheel is more straight until you get it aligned

Yeah that's the toe arm, as mentioned above, so has the most ability to be out and cause issues. Would be adjusted during alignment.
