About the only thing I have not done to my car is the suspension. New Toyota standard shocks with TTE springs fitted. Like the look of the height and do not want it any lower than what it is.
Car feels a bit floaty and vague when you push it hard and and speed through the twistys and high speed cruising.
Car has done 110,000 on original bushes etc
What are people opions on coils overs and poly bush etc
Want car to be 30mm lower than standard, not a bumpy or harsh ride but to feel more precise
Who has what and what you think is a good combination to have?

Change out all the bushes for poly bushes and go from there.
With your power output I would think stock would be way to soft however not everyone can live with coilovers day to day.
My current 2 has meister r and some poly bushing and I am very happy.
You are welcome to try it.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Agreed re poly bushes. Never had problems with increased noise or harness (except for engine mounts!), they're a no-loss upgrade IMO.

Coilovers... Really are a mixed bag. I love my meister R's as well, but if I went on much rougher roads, or did more miles in my car, perhaps not.

Personally for these cars I think standard front lower arms (see eBay for a pair for about sixty quid!) and GT4-Play rebushed rear arms, plus hard race tear toe arms makes the best compromise of cost, quality and performance.

I think Koni Sport adjustable dampers would be a good option for what you are looking for. I nearly went for those but eventually settled for new KYBs. I am pretty happy but agree that the car still feels a little floaty sometimes. But having used the new KYBs for a while I really don't think I would want coilovers.

Booked in next month for full polybushing and power coating of the bits they are being fitted to. Running out of things to do to car now!

I'm starting from scratch with a 01 bog standard car with 70,000 Irish kms. Ride is soft and rattles on poor roads and feels loose at speed.  What upgrade would you recommend for occasional fun road use.

all things being equal.
Just a fresh stock set up will see many smiles per mile.
The upgrade being fresh over 70k worn.

Lowering spring made a big difference with new Toyota shocks for me, Renewing all the bushes in a couple of weeks time. car should then feel nice and tight, like new I hope
