Hi All.  Just went to the car and couldn't open the door with the fob.   Open with the key the drivers door opens but the central locking doesnt work.  Car will start but the alarm goes off.

Any ideas why ?

I have new batteries in the fob as I changed them 3 months ago.

Do you have more than one key fob? Maybe try other fob, or try changing the battery again.

On the other two issues... the central locking doesn't work by using the key in the door so that's not a problem. The alarm is going off because you haven't disabled it - because the fob doesn't work.

Even so, before you start really digging, try new batteries in one fob.  You never know how long they're been on the shelf...?

To add to Oninon's advice, the fobs have a little red led on them that should light up when you press the buttons as an indicator of battery strength/function.
Other than that there have been incidents of radio interference from WIFI routers etc blocking the signal.

So read about interference so drove down The road and fobs work.  But they won't work on my drive. Not sure what's changed.  Must be some interference somewhere.  Is there a way of changing the signal?

The wifi issue has cropped up before.  Neighbour gets new router, key stops working.  You might try: Take the spare out.  Unplug the siren.  Drive round the corner, see if the key works.  If it does, time to track down the neighbour with a new router.  In the meantime, leave the siren unplugged?

Edit:  Missed your last post.  So there you have it.  Hopefully you will have a nice neighbour who will get the interference issue fixed.  Wifi interference is not 'supposed' to happen and is illegal, so a service provider will switch out a unit that is causing the problem. IF your neighbour is willing to make the call.

Both fobs work away from the house.  So I'll have to track down The interference.

If I remember one of the incidents was someone charging a Bluetooth device for a visitor or something so could sort itself but I can imagine how annoying it is, regardless.

Yes, that was me.  It was the nextdoor neighbour in my case, charging a device up via her network!  Perfectly fine when she unplugged up!

I've had similar issue too. My key fob wouldn't work at home in my garage but would anywhere else. Must have been wireless  interference from a neighbour. It went away after a few days.

I think this only happens when GCHQ are actively monitoring  your house.
