Are those matches based on (physical) size as well as capacity? If they are - do let us know how well it fits, as even the replacement you get from Toyota is a pain in the neck to fit (the terminals are back to front, for a start!)

BTW - my replacement from Toymota cost me £57.. Couldn't find one in any of the local motor factors that would fit (mind, most places give you a battery for a Mk2, which is huuuuuge and doesn't even fit between the suspension turret and firewall!)

I'd be interested in battery info as well, cos my battery doesn't seem to hold a charge for long and keeps setting off the alarm system when it gets low on juice.
Def need a new one. Thought Mr T was the only place you could get em.

If someone gives me the specs and dimensions I can forward them to my battery supplier. As a fairly heavy buyer of lead/acid batteries for work, they tend to do me some special deals. The battery I bought for my Peugeot just before Christmas cost me £8... Delivered!

Grant - will measure the original (i.e. from the factory, with the terminals on the right sides) battery tomorrow and post the specs, unless someone beats me to it.

[edit:]

For anyone else looking for compatible batteries. (I'll PM this info to Grant in a mo to save him looking here)

Width: 236mm
Height: 200mm. 210mm inclusing raised service ports (there is a gully in the middle, however, since the retaining bar sits at 200mm high)
Depth: 124mm

The battery displays no rating information, however it does show the following manufacturers code:

46B24L(S)-MF

And is made by Panasonic (Matsushita Electrical Co. Ltd.)

The +ve terminal is on the right hand side, when the terminals are nearest you. -ve on the left. (i.e. the terminals are on the side farthest away from the firewall, -ve on the suspension turret side).

The rating info on the replacement battery from Toyota (different size/shape) is 12V, 40AH (175A DIN).

i've given my battery the once over with the tape and can give some dims:- width 233mm , depth 122mm , height 200mm (not inc posts), terminal posts tapered round 20mm dia (max), positive terminal on right , pos terminal approx 30mm from front face of battery to terminal centre.
I've looked in the manual for its rating, but its hopeless and thereis no indication on my battery in english that tells you either.
I hope this gives enough info, if you need any more dims , let me know , as my battery is now resident in my hallway!  s:) :) s:)

I wonder if Audi/VW battery would fit. It's 45Ah, 218*133*223mm. It has the same terminals as the '2.
(listed for 39.90 euros)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.
