So I swapped out my jdm 1zz and swapped for a EU 1zz  everything is connected but I have no spark is this a ecu issue?

I know this is a trying to diagnose a problem over the phone kinda gigs but any ideas?

Crank and cam sensors are all good 100%

I ran an EU engine in my JDM car for around a year.  So it should work.

What are you planning to do with your JDM engine?

Check silly things like crankshaft sensor earth, unplug ECU connectors, blow out and clean with contact cleaner...

You might use a JOBD reader to see if anything pops out?

OBDMate do one.

To be honest the engine is just sat there looking sorry for itself was thinking of stripping it and fixing it or sell it...

Il check all the connectors tomorrow and see where it leads me.

What's wrong with it?  just an oil burner??  You'd really enjoy fixing it up and there's nothing like knowing you've got a spare!

right so you put eu engine in a import did you swap harness over so that means you only fitted engine and you put the jap harness on the eu engine  as a import don't have as many lambdas and slight wireing diffences. as the title makes it sound like its a ecu you swapped

I kept the EU harness and just ignored the extra O2 connector.  As Headcase says I'm not sure a JAP harness will work on an EU engine with a JAP ECU...

Jap ecu, harness, sensors & eu engine should surely work fine. There are no differences in the mechanicals are there?

I do know, from talking with Deano, that a JDM ECU won't work in a Euro car.  That's only because of the lack of an immobliser circuit in the JDM.

I do know, from my own experience that the JDM ECU does work with Euro engine and harness.  There are a couple of differences between the two engines, but I haven't noticed anything major.

I haven't put a JDM harness on a Euro engine....

if he kept all jap stuff and put on eu engine yes that would work
