With regards to the Precats problem, has anyone thought of contacting BBC's Watchdog ? i know there was a problem with a car before (Focus i think) where the steering could send you in to the ditch without warning, Ford did not acknolege this untill watchdog got on the case and caused a complete recall.

Wonder if its worth a try on the Precats ???

It's not a danger to anyone so I doubt they would be concerned.

They had a similar story about some car, can't remember which, where you could unlock the boot without the keys in seconds flat.  Lots of cases, they featured that.  Don't think it needs to be detrimental to health for them to feature such things.

If it gets toyota to acknoledge it as a problem it will help ....

That was a Peugeot and it effected every car. The dealers knew about it (as shown by secret filming) and there was an official fix, but the public was never informed.

If the engine decides to blow with a massive smoke when you're doing 80mph (or whatever the limits in UK are) in the middle lane of a busy highway, it's gonna be a danger to many, not just you...
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

The head gasket problem on the Rover K-series engine was on Watchdog a while ago. Land Rover had recognised it as a problem and were fixing the engines when the went. MG wouldn't acknowledge it as a problem   s:roll:  s:roll:  .

Often though people shown on the programme get their cars fixed as a "gesture of goodwill"   s:wink:  s:wink:  .
