Coolant change - How? (Yes, I've read the how-to)

OK, I'm clearly being thick here, but I've read the how to and I don't get it (I have a visual learning style as you've probably noticed as I like to draw pictures and take photos).

Does anyone have any pictures of the bits I'm supposed to do in here please?

When messing around with the clutch, we had to move some pipes and lost coolant in the process. Because there's almost certainly air in it, it'll need bleeding.
If I'm going to bleed it, I may as well flush it and replace it (particularly as I think I've always had an air bubble in it).

There are two drain plugs under the centre of the car, one on each pipe.  They can be stubborn, though both of my cars opened no problem.  You'll need a bucket.  There's a ton of coolant in there.  Once they are open, loosen the cap on the expansion tank and let it drain.
When that's done, close them up and take out all your front plastics, including the frunk.  You should find two clear plastic hoses attached to the bulkhead.  Grab those.
There are two bleed points.  One on the top driver's side of the radiator and one near the heater on the bulkhead.  Slide one of the hoses onto both bleed points. Tape/secure the other end on the hoses to the bonnet so they go up high.
I find it helpful to take the driver's side top radiator mount off to make getting at the rad bleeder easier.  Jack the back of the car up a bit, so the expansion tank is higher than the bleed points.
Open the bleed points and start re-filling the system via the expansion tank.  I use 50/50 pink coolant and water.
It will take quite a while to get to the point that you can't add more coolant.  Make sure your heater is on full hot.
Close the rad bleeder and open the one next to the heater.  Open it quite a few turns.  Start the engine.  Keep an eye on the level in the expansion tank throughout the process from now on.  Massage the big flexible hoses going to and from the rad.  Keep going until coolant starts to appear in the plastic tube by the bulkhead.
With the engine off, close that bleed point and and open the one on the rad.  Massage the hoses as the engine runs.  Repeat until there's a column of coolant in each hose. Make sure both bleed points are fully closed.  Jack the car down.
Make sure the expansion tank has coolant but is not over full.  Check that the heater works.  If not, do more bleeding.
Don't bother putting the plastics back for a few days.  Drive the car keeping an eye on the coolant level.  Top up as required.
That's how I remember the job.
I'm sure I've missed something, so perhaps others can chip in.

OK, I've got further than I have before  s:D :D s:D  I think I can empty it!
It's the bleed point on the bulkhead I think I'm going to have fun with.

I'll take all the plastics out and have a look.

Carolyn

You'll be fine.  Ain't hard, just tedious.... Once the plastics are out all will become clear.

Hopefully your all drained, flushed, refilled and bled out now, if not, to avoid jacking the back of the car up, you could ask to use Scotte's Snowdon like drive way.
