I recently started to bleed the brakes on my 2.
3 of the callipers had nipples that needed an 8mm spanner but the fourth was much smaller.  s:( :( s:(
Thinking that this nipple had been rounded off I got 4 new nipples.
It turns out that these too are too small for the 8mm spanner.
Before I start the job could someone please tell me what spanner should be used on these new nipples as I can't find one that fits.

Thanks in advance.

For brake nipples I've always used 6-sided 1/4" sockets to avoid rounding. Deep sockets are normally required which provide sufficient headroom. Otherwise it's a case of drilling the socket out to provide the same.

Or buy a bleed nipple spanner. Good close fit and room for bleed hose.
Ex 2GR-FE roadster. Sold it. Idiot.  Now Jaguar F-Type P450 75 Edition RWD. Officially over by the bins.

Brake nipple spanner is definitely the way to go in my experience- draper one can be bought for a few quid off eBay and provides a nice fit.

Small blowtorch and dip a candle on it, if you can not get a spanner to fit a good set of mole grips, quick heat dip, do not force, re heat if needed, it will come loose.

If you fancy replacing the old ones, I can recommend Speed Bleeders, from the USA, they are excellent.
No Roadster any more, Golf 7.5 GTi Performance
