Accelerator cable free play

Hello all
I have about an inch of free play in said cable is this good ??
Plan to do rocker gasket on Friday so if not can adjust then
Any tips on both items appreciated
10-10 till we do it again ( been on the CB today )

I would say that is too much. Does the throttle pedal have any free play when you first press it?

Yes about an inch at the engine end and a bit over at the base of the peddle end (base of the peddle to floor)

Easy to adjust at the throttle body.

Update
Adjusted at the throttle body still about 4 mill play
Placed a rubber tap washer on top of the peddle stop as temp fix

I did that about 2 years ago...

Still there, still works!
