Any good toyota specialists in the North East to service the MR2?

Hi All,

Does anyone know any good toyota/mr2 specialists who would service and look after my MR2 in the North East they would recommend?
Was also just thinking about using a local garage, looking at the youtube videos looks quite straight forward to service the MR2.

Any advice, experience appreciated.

County Durham, but don't mind travelling for a a reliable garage.

Ah OK. The only place I was thinking was AK Automotive.
In Rowlands Gill (NE39 1EN)

They're the best and most reliable garage I've used yet. Specialised in MX- 5s but basically do everything now. They were great with my mr2 and Helen's turbo MR2.

Thanks ah yes I've heard of them and when was looking for the roadster before I got the mr2 they seemed to be linked to a sale of some decent example mx5's. Think I even saw a turbo charged mx5 they had for sale.

Correct. Bit of a sleeper that was. Very nice install with 300hp.
Not that I'd ever get an mx- 5

Anyway, theyre good and expanding at the minute which is a good sign. They also do full rebuilds, race builds, etc etc for if/when you fancy going down that route

Spoke to them and they're happy to do services ("it's our bread and butter")

I'd say go for them if you need a service. Get an alignment done by them while you're there they're rather good at it.

Hope you don't mind me piggybacking, anyone in the North East had their clutch replaced by a garage they'd recommend?

At the moment leaning towards taking it down to Steve at D1 (if he does them) but it's obviously quite the trip.

Well when my clutch was due I sent Paul an email... Never heard a thing back.

I'd still put my trust in AK to be honest.

Paul Woods quoted £250 all in but a two month wait. Hopefully it'll hold out til then as I'm happy at that.

Going to get Mr Sloan to swap out handbrake cables in next few weeks then providing the pipes are ok that should be mot passed.
