I've got a custom made Rocket Bunny style ducktail spoiler which I brought ages ago and totally forgot about it until a couple of days ago lol.

I've started prepping it for paint but abit confused about fitting. It needs to be mounted on the rear bumper... Is it just the case of measuring the holes, drilling, applying sealant and screwing it in like usual? Or does the rear bumper need some reinforcement or something to support the weight and wind forces pushing it down?

Also could double sided tape like 3M or Mammoth be used instead of a sealant like tigerseal?

Probably best to post some pictures if it is a custom made one.

Bear in mind that the Mr T ducktail which goes on the bumper causes problems for taking the rear lights off and people who have them often screw them on only so they can be loosened to allow the lights to come off without having to take the whole bumper off,

the normal ducktail goes on with a series of nuts onto the bolts that extend out of the ducktail. There are also a couple of brackets that are either side that attach under the bumper - it's these that are the real pain to take on and off when trying to remove the whole thing to get access to the lights etc... I'd recommend just using butterfly screws and some thread locker :-)
