Hi All

I have woes. Need a new main Cat for the MOT. While the back end is in bits I thought about decatting the precats. Heat shield removed (eventually). The manifold bolts look proper rusty

Just wondering if anyone has seen worse and still managed to complete the job without more woes. Pic below is of the top 3 bolts. The other 2 look just as perished

Plenty of plus gas over a few hours/days (depending what you can spare) and they should whizz straight out. Mine were awful and flew straight out. Although the studs may come out as well.
Mid that's the case I'm sure Carolyn wrote a how to on separating them.

Cheers Fella's. No plus gas in this house. Got WD40, and some German branded penetrant from one of the budget supermarkets. I've got a few days before the new main cat turns up so I'll blast them as often as I can until then.

Got irwin nut grips too. I just need a big brave pill now before I decide if I should tackle this myself. It's just nuts and bolts innit!

Get some Plusgas.

Soak.  Run it.  Soak.

Go for it with a long six-sided socket.  (Knock the socket on, if you have to)

They will probably come out with the studs, which is fine.

If one is stubborn, put some heat to it.

You have nothing to fear except the sky falling on your head.
