Hi all,

Has anyone had success with online paint suppliers? I see there are various eBay/Amazon/other websites selling paint by the code (in my case, 1E3 Sable Grey), and was hoping someone could recommend a good online supplier they've used?

I could probably do with a bit more than a touch-up paint stick, as if you've seen any of my other posts, I'm trying to tidy up the frunk area.

I'm reluctant to go to Toyota as the nearest dealer is a 70 mile round trip (good excuse for a drive, but the MR2 is currently SORN so would prefer not to have to go out of my way). I know what you're thinking, at this time of year I need to get it back on the road asap...!

Cheers,
Nick.

I'm literally just waiting on a first delivery of online paint ordered from eBay.
I'm not sure if it'll turn up or what the colour match is going to be like...but as soon as I get some information I'll update you.

Btw...I want my car to look like this all over [emoji16]

What sort of paint are you talking about? A ready mixed aerosol or standard paint you can mix and spray yourself?

(Dont bother with halfords colour matched aerosol, it looked nothing like sable).

Have you thought of coming to Ding Day? The paint guy may be able to sort you out on the day with spraying the area concerned and could probably supply some paint as well if you asked beforehand.

Brizee - thanks, any info greatly appreciated.

Topdownman - sorry, I should have specified. Yes, I'm after a ready mixed aerosol/rattlecan (I did appreciate your notion I may have been mixing it myself, but sadly not equipped for that!). Thanks for the warning - I did consider Halfords. Did you find something that gave a better result in spray can form?

That sounds like the ideal solution, but unfortunately I can't make it to Ding Day due to other commitments. In any case, getting it ready for someone else to paint would assume that I'm organised...

I wouldnt bother using rattle cans on bodywork as the finish wont be great and you would have to strip it off if in the future you wanted it sprayed professionally. I know this because I had to do this with the spoiler I had painted with the halfords spray can!

Can you find a mobile sprayer or body shop for a quote?

It's only the slam panel in front of the radiator, not exposed bodywork, so I'm quite happy to have a go myself. Bad luck with the spoiler!

Just need to know if there are any online suppliers who do a decent match!

I seem to remember someone querying colour matches a while ago but couldnt find the thread!
