Good day all.
Just a quick update on shock absorber replacement .
Myself and Pauls 0212 , this man has helped me out on many occasions.
We set about replacing all four shockers approx 1030 am, completed 1730pm same day.
Defo a two man job this one.
after fitting , steering felt a bit stiffish when close to full lock either side, took car for tracking and no adjustment was needed , was advised that because of new shockers steering would feel stiff until things bed in !!
Guy was spot on as after three to four days steering is back to normal feel.
Kept same springs as they were good.
Drop link bolts were challenging !! alan key required to remove these, not obvious from online searches but alan key goes in bolt end to enable nut to be released.
Just thought id post this so any one thinking about doing this job and has any questions then paul or myself will be happy to advise as required.

Depends which droplinks you have.
My new ones don't - they take a 15mm spanner on the inside.

In all honesty though, don't bother taking them off. They're cheap enough and should really be replenished anyway. I changed mine when I did the shocks last weekend. They came off with an angle grinder  :))

I'll be honest, once you know what you're doing with the shocks, I bet you could change all 4 in a couple of hours? Carolyn and I took all mine off last week to change the springs (as well as changing the rear links) Took us 5 hours, but I reckon I could halve that, even on my own.
