Just recently bought an 06 roadster and although the car has only been serviced in December 2017 I'm going to throw a new set of plugs in and change the oil too.

What are the recommendations for spark plugs? (It's a standard car)

I removed one of the plugs and it's currently running Bosch FR8KC and as much as I can stick to these just wanted to get a feeler if there's any better plugs available?

Thanks

Nick

If the number format is common to all plugs. They are 3 grades too cool.
From memory. Ngk bkr5e-11
Will check when on home pc

Grade 5 for NA, 6 For turbo
Good call on changing oil. Good to know what went in and when.

While your at it I suggest giving the maf a clean (see info on here) and  disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the engine management system (EMS). You will then have a fresh start for the EMS.

Thanks. I'd already cleaned the MAF the day I got the car (I have exactly the same MAF on my 01 Impreza so used to cleaning that one lol)

Hi, I opted for a set of Bosch FR78X when I changed mine, as it was all my local Halfords had. I'm an '06, stock engine. no complaints. I might be taking them out this evening for a look if I have time tonight to do an oil change, I'll take pics, which'll be after about 10k miles use

Here's my Bosch FR78X's after ~10k miles

Thanks Derek and Ardent!

I'll try and pick up a set of the NGK's from ECP since they're the OEM plugs...

I fitted four of these today. Cheap and cheerful but work well. My last set lasted for nearly 3 years. Purchased from Euro car parts for convenience, as they are 2 mins away from me. Also fitted new air filter. The car sounds great.
